If your child is due to start school in September 2016 you need to make an application through the City of York Council. Full details of how to do this can be found on their website.   You can also phone the School Admissions team on 01904 551554.

Your child can start primary or infant school in the September of the school year they turn 5. You should apply by 15 January in the school year your child turns 4.

Applications for entry into reception in September 2016 can be made either:

• online form to apply for a school place
• by completing a primary common application form

On time applications will be accepted from 12 September 2015 to 15 January 2016, and late applications can be made after 15 January, though these may be looked at after other applications.
