The KS1 disco, Wednesday 20th December 5:00-6:00pm, is for both EYFS and KS1 children.

Sweet bags and drinks will also be available to purchase on the evening.

PTA Event Update – Christmas Fair

This year to start rebuilding our calendar of events, post COVID, the PTA will be holding a Christmas Fair on Friday 8th December, between 4:30 & 6:30pm in the school hall.

A variety of stores will be available for you to support, including many firm favourites such as a raffle; tombola; lucky dip and a mystery bottle stall. There will also be Christmas themed stalls and an opportunity for children to buy festive gifts for family and friends.

All this entertainment will be supported with a chance to indulge in mulled wine and hot chocolate along with hot dogs being available for tea.

We are also hoping to have a short Christmas Carol concert on stage at 5:30pm. This will include any Elvington School children in attendance at the aforementioned time.

How can I help?

  1. Donate a prize On Monday 27th November there will be a non-school uniform day, and in lieu of the usual cash donation, we are asking that children bring in a prize for a stall – this needs to be a specific colour. All classes have been assigned a colour as detailed below:
    Class 1 – Red ~ Class 2 – Yellow ~ Class 3 – Orange ~ Class 4 – Green ~ Class 5 – Blue
Examples would be a bottle of orange bubble bath, green Matchmakers, red Maltesers, a blue candle etc. Any donations will be gratefully received…
  2. Donate time Can you help on a stall or with setting up your clearing up? This doesn’t have to be long, a minimum of 30 minutes and the more people the easier and more successful everything becomes. Please contact j.leach@elvingtonprimary.org.uk, message the Facebook page (search Elvington Primary PTA team) or contact Kara Palmer/Mary Atalogbe, to pledge 30 mins of your time.
  3. Support the event Come along and have some fun with your children. All money raised this event is going towards First Aid training for all pupils in the school. This is an amazing opportunity for your children to learn skills that may help them save a life!

Please help support this event, as this will enable us to organise additional events in the future, consequently, raising more money to enhance the school experience for all the children who attend Elvington Church of England Primary School.

Thank you,The PTA

Mrs Leach to run from York to London and back again 2023 to 2024**

I’m excited to let you know that I’ve been fortunate enough to secure a ballot place in next year’s London Marathon to be held on the 21st of April 2024.

As a result, I am delighted to inform you that I am using this fantastic opportunity to raise money for the PTFA at the school. All money raised will provide vital resources and enrichment experiences for our amazing pupils that the school might not otherwise be able to afford.

With the support of the school and the PTFA, I am planning to arrange several events from now until the race that will involve all the children in my training, help highlight the fun of exercise and also the benefit of bringing a growth mindset into class every day. The picture attached is from when I last ran the marathon in 2015, and you can read my story here.

**This refers to the potential training miles involved in preparing for the event but may be subject to a competition, so not going to be giving too much away!Mrs Leach

PTA News

On behalf of everyone associated with Elvington Church of England Primary School, I would like to extend my upmost thanks to Emma Hartley, who has stepped down as Chair of the PTA.

Emma has worked tirelessly, alongside other members of the PTA, with her effort’s contributing towards the Attenborough day; Eco Green Flag status; the hog roast concert; Look North, and of course the Blue Peter badges. Lastly, not forgetting the wonderful STAR barn which will continue to be utilised for the foreseeable future.

As a parting gift Emma has arranged for £150 to be donated to each of our five classes.Mr. Andrew Buttery, Headteacher
