Recently there were two AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators) installed in the village after extensive fundraising by Colin Skelton (Megan’s dad). One of the AED’s is situated on the road side of the village hall and the second unit is situated next to the front door of the Elvington Medical Centre. The familiarisation day will aim to teach villagers where the boxes are, how to open them by dialling 999 and what to do with them once they have access to them. Anyone is welcome and there is no need to book a slot. The importance of early defibrillation and CPR is vitally important to a better success rate if someone has a heart attack. So please come down see what the AED’s are all about.
