Dear Parents/Carers,
I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year; although the uncertainty which has been developing since my last communication on Wednesday 30th December is palpable.
As you will be aware, there have been a number of statements made by both teaching unions and some councils regarding the start of the Spring Term. However, it is important to stress that at the time of writing this letter, no formal communication, regarding the aforementioned, has come from the DfE. As a result, our pupils will currently return to Elvington Church of England Primary School on Tuesday 5th January 2021; following our INSET day on Monday 4th January.
As both a Headteacher and a parent, I realise how unsettling and potentially upsetting this uncertainty is for everyone. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email (head@elvingtonprimary.org.uk), if you have any questions. Although, unfortunately, I cannot guarantee to have the answers. Should there be any new directives from the DfE, I will contact you at the earliest opportunity to outline any amended arrangements.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in working together to ensure the safety and well-being of all those in our school community.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Andrew Buttery
