Dear Parents/Carers,
I wanted to make you aware that class teachers will be contacting the parents/carers of those children in their class who are not currently attending school. These calls will take place next week (week beginning Monday 15th June), following this schedule:
- Miss. Rushmer on Monday
- Miss. Palmer on Tuesday
- Mrs. Granger on Wednesday
- Mrs. Holmes on Thursday
- Mrs. Haffey on Friday
I understand the difficulties and frustrations for parents/carers if you are in the position where your child/ren are keen to return to school, but they have not fallen into the specified year groups of children who were allowed back from 1st June. I appreciate that this may be exacerbated by your working arrangements, siblings who may be in school or a desire to try to return to some semblance of normality. However, as previously stated, the safety of pupils and staff is my absolute priority, and ensuring we adhere to the Government’s guidelines, severely restricts the number of children we can currently have in school.
We will continue to operate a waiting list, as all groups/bubbles have reached their capacity. Please email Mrs. Greening (office@elvingtonprimary.org.uk), if you would like your child/ren adding to the waiting list. However, I must stress that this does not constitute a place in the aforementioned groups/bubbles.
Following a conversation with Stuart Lloyd (a member of Elvington’s Governing Body), I would like to enquire if parents/carers who have either sent emails or made positive comments about our school via the Elvington Facebook page, would be willing to give their consent for them to be used to celebrate our school through local marketing. The whole staff team have been boosted by these comments during these challenging times. If the aforementioned is not something you would be willing to do, please let me know via email: head@elvingtonprimary.org.uk, by Friday 19th June 2020 – thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Andrew Buttery
